Being a small and community-oriented studio we love building connections and getting to know our students a little better.
Over the coming months we’ll be shining a spotlight on the stories of some of our wonderful clients. Read on to learn more about Tash’s journey with yoga, told in her own words, and how it took her more than a few classes to fall in love with the practice.

When did you start practicing yoga and why? I first tried yoga back in 2012 as a way of supporting my fitness training for hockey. I hated it! I didn’t see the point in it and I think I went to three sessions before giving up on it! But then my best friend had so many good things to say about Yoga Joy Saigon in 2016, I went along and had my first lesson. I went with the intention to get a bit fitter but wasn’t really holding out a lot of enthusiasm, I mainly went because of my friend’s recommendation that it would be good for me! I remember by the end, something clicked in my mind, and I realised that yoga had so much more to offer than I ever would have guessed.
How has yoga impacted your life? Yoga has had a huge impact on my life. It led me to meditation, which in turn led me to a greater self-awareness and consciousness. I have no doubt that all of these things guided me to the decision to become sober and finally face my mental health problems.
What has been your experience practicing at Yoga Joy? I have loved practicing at Yoga Joy. The instructors I have met have all impacted my life so positively. The studio has offered a safe space of community and love and will certainly be one of the things I miss the most about living here.
